Geoff Kiessling

HC 18 Nike Black

Geoff Kiessling is entering his 28th year of coaching volleyball. This will be Geoff's 12th year with Dallas Premier. Kiessling has had a pretty good career so far and has no plans of stopping any time soon. Geoff started coaching in 1992. Man, he is OLD! As an Owner/Director and Coach of this AWESOME Club, Kiessling feels like Premier is the best kept secret in the NTR Region. “Once people find out what Premier is all about, they almost always fall in love with what we are doing here”. We Train Athletes, period! “Having 25+ years of experience, I can promise that we are at the highest end of the spectrum when it comes to training”. “In an era where name brands seem to lead the decision of clubs, we challenge all, that feel the name brand is always the best. Our product is as good or better than some of those with brand names. I promise you that!!” It must be true, because Geoff has qualified teams for Nationals every season. “I have been at other clubs and have seen what they do and how they do it. I am VERY THANKFUL for the opportunities provided to me and the experiences I have from those opportunities.” Kiessling spent 3 years at TAV as a Director/Master Coach and while there Medaled at 8 qualifiers, Won the Tour of Texas, Finished 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 5th in the Nation with 12’s and 16’s. He has also been a 3x Coach of the Year Candidate once at TAV and twice at Premier. Kiessling came back to Premier with a better understanding of how the other half lives and wanted to bring Premier back to the forefront of the region. In his first year back, he helped bring Jason Williams (current Associate Coach Baylor University) back to Premier and he did just that. Premier qualified multiple teams that season with some in the Open division. This past season his 18 Black team won the Bronze Medal at Junior Nationals! Good Luck this Season!! (below is a very wordy bio. If you have 9 hours, please feel free to read it) Kiessling has been a part of all aspects of the volleyball game. As a Player, Boys and Girls Club, Boys and Girls High School, College as well as International coach, Geoff has a good idea how this thing works. Geoff started playing volleyball in Houston, the summer of his 8th grade year. The following year, he helped found the first Texas high school boys league. While pursuing a soccer career, volleyball soon became a passion as well. While playing soccer at Clear Brook High School and Friendswood High School he and his friends started high school boys teams that quickly turned into a boys league. This was unheard of at the time in Texas, but the High School league had 10 teams represented by 6 schools. On the boys side, Geoff has played as well as coached and trained many successful boys players who continued playing at schools such as Pepperdine, Long Beach, Arizona and others. Kiessling spent 8 years as a collegiate coach at Alvin College and Galveston College as well as. While at ACC, Kiessling took the program from the bottom of the Conference and helped to make ACC a Top 20 Nationally ranked program. During his 8 year tenure, he helped lead his teams to Post Season play every year. He helped to produce 20 All Conference, 10 All-Region and 2 All-Americans. 21 of his players went on to play at Major Universities and 2 to play Professional. Some of his setters were ranked in the top 10 in the Nation each and as high as 3rd. His teams also participated in several International matches allowing him to train with and learn from coaches from other countries enriching his love to learn more about the sport he loves. On the high school side of things, while in Houston, he coached boys high school teams in the league that he helped start. He also spent six seasons with John Paul II High School as the Varsity Assistant Coach. Club coaching started for Geoff with NASA Volleyball Club in Friendswood Texas, his Jr year of High School. The following year, he helped South East Texas (SET) Jrs get started and took ownership soon after. After a few years, Kiessling merged SET with South Shore Juniors and spent almost 10 years with the club. As one of the Master Coaches of South Shore Junior Volleyball Club, he qualified for the USA Junior National Championships, producing 2 All Americans and finishing as high as 5th in the Nation twice and 3rd at the AAU National Championships. Geoff spent one year with Texas Tornados as Head 18's Coach. His team qualified for the Junior Olympics and won the Bronze Medal in the 18 American Division and three of his girls were selected as All Americans. Kiessling is known as one of the top technical trainers in the business. Geoff has trained many athletes from all levels of High Schools, Clubs and Colleges in Texas as well as surrounding states. He has also trained many athletes preparing them for their International Professional careers. Coach Kiessling also spent many years with USA Volleyball. Geoff was selected for 10 years to train athletes from all over the country in High Performance and Development camps held by USA Volleyball. Kiessling had the privilege to train many years with 2004 Olympic Coach Toshi Yoshida and 2008 Olympic Coach, Jenny "Lang" Ping. He was also selected as an apprentice coach for USA Volleyball for the High Performance program. Geoff was involved in the training of the USA HP A1 Team that participated in the USA High Performance Championships where his USA HP Red won a Gold Medal despite playing up in an older age group. This team consisted of Cal Berkley standout Tarah Murrey, Nebraska Setter Lauren Cooke, Penn State Setter Kristen Carpenter and Hawaii Outside Hitter Kanani Danielson. As well as coaching, Kiessling also worked on the technical side of USA Volleyball as a member of the USA Volleyball Events Staff and Committee. Kiessling also helped with training the USA Junior National Team as they prepared for the NORCECA Continental Junior Women's Championship in Winnipeg, Canada. He also helped with the 2000 Olympic Team tryouts in San Diego, California. Kiessling was also represented the Lone Star Region as a Coach for the LS High Performance Program for the first 4 years of its conception before being asked to work with USA HP Program. Geoff has coached or trained over 300 athletes who received scholarship offers to play volleyball in college. Geoff loves training setters. Some of his setters have received offers to programs like Texas, Texas A&M, Florida State, Arizona, Arizona State, Oregon State, Baylor, Ole Miss, Wyoming, SFA and others. Some of his setters have been selected as State MVPs as well as collegiate All Americans. Many of Kiessling's former players have competed in the NCAA Division I National Championships. Kiessling was a member of the North Texas Region Jr Board of Directors 2014/2107 Current and active member of the American Volleyball Coaches Association Junior Volleyball Association CAP Level II Certified Coach VCAP Certified AAU Double Coach Certified Just Plain Awesome Geoff is married to the smartest and most amazing woman he knows, Rhae and they have 2 amazing boys Connor (4) and Cortland (2). They have dedicated themselves to help your daughter achieve her goals not only in volleyball but in life. “We want every player that leaves Dallas Premier to be a better volleyball player, a better person and to make a positive contribution to the world” Lord knows in times like these the more positivity we can spread, the better.   wow, I can’t believe you read the whole thing…

Kelsey Weeden

HC 13 Red

Kelsey is looking forward to her third season with Dallas Premier. Kelsey is a CAP 1 USAV coach and plans on earning her CAP 2 in the near future. This will be Kelsey’s 8th season coaching. She was head coach of Dallas Christian School’s JV volleyball team as well as Varsity assistant coach from 2018-2019. Kelsey is a native Texan who began playing volleyball during 7th grade and has been hooked ever since. She played 4 years of varsity volleyball for Lake Dallas High School. Kelsey attended the University of North Texas, on academic scholarship, to earn a bachelor’s degree in psychology, as well as attend some graduate school. Kelsey and her husband welcomed their second little girl to the world in March and she can’t wait to get them both on the court. She, her husband, and daughter’s, Lillian and Juniper, attend Gateway Church in Southlake, Texas. Kelsey's coaching philosophy aims to foster and build the athletes confidence in their ability. Through the use of positive reinforcement, she strives to build the quality of player’s fundamental skills. She hopes to encourage, through example, good sportsmanship and doing the right thing above all else. She wants to help instill a life-long love for the game and focus on achieving players goals in volleyball. She wants to establish that winning, though important, is not the greatest victory on the court.

Rebecca Elam

HC 13 White

Rebecca is excited to start her first season as a Dallas Premier Coach. Although she is new to Premier, she is not new to the sport of volleyball. She was an All-State player at a 4A Texas High School and played 5 seasons of club for various organizations herself. She received her bachelor’s degree from The University of Texas at Austin. Rebecca has past club coaching experience in the 12s and 13s. She now lives in Celina with her husband and her 4 young daughters who she hopes have a passion of their own for the sport someday.

Rhae Kiessling

HC 12 Nike Black

Rhae began her volleyball career in San Antonio, Texas and accepted a full scholarship to play Division I volleyball at Sam Houston State University. After Sam Houston, she moved to Dallas to pursue a career in science ranging from Molecular Biology to high school science to a Masters in Prosthetics and Orthotics. As a graduate student at SMU she played on the club team and as an adult player, Rhae won a Gold Medal at the USA Open National Championships. She was selected to the All Tournament team. Rhae’s coaching resume is very shiny as well. She coached at JJ Pearce for 4 years and was a part of two 5A State Tournament appearances. Rhae spent 5 years at TAV where she helped qualify 4 teams and medaled with 2 of them. Her 14 Blue team finished 3rd and her 18 Black team won GOLD. This was the first Texas team in history to win an 18 Open National Championship! Rhae met the love of her life, Geoff Kiessling, who has also won National Gold Medals in the Open Division and together they are “All-In" when it comes to volleyball. Two years ago, Rhae helped qualify 16Black for the National Tournament and this past season, 14 Black was well on their way until #COVID19 happened. “I enjoy watching the teams move up the Regional Rankings because it shows the growth of your daughters from start to finish. I am very happy to encourage these players to be the best version of themselves and really dig in and strive for greatness. I stress technique very heavily because it’s the one thing we have total control over. We can’t control the other team (although it’s always fun to take over the match by outsmarting them) but we can always control ourselves and our technique and I train heavily in that regard. This will be the biggest positive change between your previous coaches and myself.”

Jasmine Kim

HC 11 Nike Black

This will be Jasmine's fifth year coaching club and second at Premier. She has worked with players from ages 12-16 and focuses on perfecting an individual’s technique and skill. Jasmine has played volleyball for 10 years as an outside, rightside, and DS. After 6 years of club volleyball, she played a year of DIII volleyball at Eastern University where she helped her team win conference championships. She is now in her last year at the University of Texas at Dallas. Jasmine looks forward to sharing her enthusiasm and knowledge of the sport, as well as nurturing each player’s confidence in her skills and passion for the game. We are excited to have Jasmine back as she is another #PremierAlum that is coaching for Dallas Premier
